Lyrics To Our 3D Shapes Song
Each table of students was given a three-dimensional figure and about five minutes to write some lyrics about the figure, including all of it traits.
Set to the tune of AC/DC's Back In Black...
Oh how I love my 3D shape,
only one face and called a cone.
We learn it, we write it,
no edges and no verticies.
We got a cylinder, 2 faces.
No verticies, no edges, just faces.
Too bad for them faces
They have no friends
I love three dimensional figures.
I love three dimensional figures.
The square based pyramid
has 8 edges, 5 faces, and 5 verticies
Faces rhymes with spaces
Done, thank you.
The sphere is crazy because
it goes round and round
She feels sad and different,
no faces, edges, or verticies
I love three dimensional figures.
I love three dimensional figures.
A cube is a 3D shape
with 6 faces, 8 verticies,
and 12 edges, yeah we like them
because they are helpful
We have a shape
it’s name is rectangular prism
it has 6 faces, 8 verticies, and 12 edges.
It’s a beautiful shape.
Set to the tune of AC/DC's Back In Black...
Oh how I love my 3D shape,

Trying Something New
Watching videos in the classroom is usually a quiet activity. Each student is left to their own thoughts as they sit back and view the film. Is that good? Sometimes. But what if we had a way to communicate as we watched a video? What if students were able to share their thoughts and questions throughout?
Well, we gave it a go...here's what happened...
